Park Slope Family Chiropractic and Nutrition is a family-oriented practice which means every person in your family, regardless of age, is a candidate for care. Our office is a unique health care facility, a warm inviting atmosphere for both children and adults. Our kid-friendly environment includes a play area that provides children with activity and comfort while they observe and become curious about their parent's chiropractic care. For those children who enter our practice before their parents, the children lead the way to introducing the adults to our philosophy and techniques. We teach that health is the norm and the body can heal itself if properly cared for.
My desire to become a chiropractor was inspired by a drugless form of healthcare that relied on the innate ability of the body to heal itself. My older brother was an inspiration as he was a chiropractor and I was exposed to the healing that took place in his office. In December of 1997 I graduated from Life University School of Chiropractic in Marietta, GA. Life University was built upon the same philosophy as the first chiropractic school established in 1897, Palmer School of Chiropractic, where the focus on healing was to let an organism express its life force 100% by removing interference from the main control center of the body -- the nervous system.
As fate would have it, my NY license came through first and I started practicing as a substitute chiropractor in offices where needed in NYC. This lead me to Park slope which as a "Jersey girl" I had not even heard of. The rest is history -- 20 years ago I bought the practice from the chiropractor I had been helping out and became a "Brooklynite".
My dream was to create a family-oriented practice where I could educate families to take care of their health in a preventative way. I saw chiropractic care as a means to long-term health and wellness and not just a tool for acute care. As my practice developed, I got advanced training in Pediatric and Prenatal care wherein I learned additional protocols and techniques such as Webster to help with breech birth. I became dedicated to educating the Park Slope community to the benefits of strengthening the nervous and immune systems through chiropractic care in order to sustain health and well-being.
This is in fact when sets me apart from most chiropractors. Although I treat acute care patients, my passion is in wellness care. Education is a big part of my practice as knowledge is power and many people have misconceptions about chiropractic care and its benefits.
